CASEnergy Coalition
CASEnergy recently traveled to Idaho with co-chair Dr. Moore for a two-day schedule packed with meetings in Idaho Falls and Boise, and lots of media opportunities. Below are a few highlights:

Idaho Falls

The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) hosted a breakfast for Dr. Moore, INL staff, Idaho Senators and City Council Members. The breakfast was followed by an interview with KIDK TV News and a meeting with the editorial board of the Idaho Post Register.  Dr. Moore answered questions on nuclear plant expansion, Yucca Mountain and nuclear energy as it relates to the 2008 Presidential Candidates.

Dr. Moore toured the INL Nuclear Hydrogen lab and learned more about the technology currently being developed and tested at their facilities.

The day concluded with Dr. Moore giving a presentation to over 250 people at the Bennion Student Union. The audience consisted of students, faculty, current and retired INL staff and local community leaders. Dr. Moore took numerous questions following his presentation, which resulted in a further discussion of how nuclear energy can meet our current and future energy demands.

Boise

On April 23, CASEnergy and Dr. Moore met with members of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce and participated in a lecture at the Idaho Environmental Forum, attended by approximately 100-150 members. Dr. Moore fielded a variety of questions on cost/subsidies, spent fuel storage and security. The day concluded with a one-on-one interview at KTVB Studio.

Idaho is a state that would benefit from new nuclear power plants. With continued support from the Idaho National Laboratory and Partnership for Science and Technology we look forward to building a great partnership.
