Whitman Visits Illinois
CASEnergy co-chair Christine Todd Whitman kicked off 2008 with a trip to Illinois for a full day packed with meetings, speeches and discussions about nuclear energy with students, staff and faculty at Northside College Preparatory High School and Northeastern Illinois University.
This trip was part of the coalition’s efforts to engage more college students and younger people on nuclear energy and to encourage meaningful dialogue on energy issues.
Governor Whitman spoke to students and faculty interested in the environment and answered questions on nuclear and U.S. energy policies more broadly.
She also spoke about her role as the National Co-Chairman of the CASEnergy Coalition and her thoughts on the role nuclear energy can play in meeting our nation’s future energy needs.
While in Illinois, Governor Whitman also had an interview with Chicago Public Radio’s morning news/talk magazine program. She spoke about general topics related to nuclear energy and discussion about the Tritium leaks at the Braidwood facility in Illinois. Click here to listen.
